As you can see from the photos, this is not a large pendant, though it's a normal size. The Gemstone however is a larger one at 8mm (approximately 1/3" in diameter (remember 25.40mm to 1 Inch)). The Colors shown are a mix between Red and Brown which are natural colors for most garnets and perhaps a bit of Purple in the stone. Nice Garnet. Most garnets will have inclusions but that is normal for the stones. Rare will you find any that do not.

The bail can be used with a variety of small or larger chains. We suggest using maybe a 1.4mm Flat cable which look good with these pendants though you can choose larger or even smaller ones. For all items we make, we add Renaissance Wax to all finished Jewelry, to protect it. Commonly used by Museums to protect valuable artwork and jewelry.

As with the most popular Jeweler's Insurance agency, Jeweler's Mutual, we recommend the same care for most stones and your jewelry. Use warm water, a soft tooth brush, and a mild dish detergent that do not contain dying or bleaching agents (Blue Dawn recommended) and then polish up. For a more through cleaning take to a qualified jeweler and disclose any known treatments etc. that your gemstones may have. If you Tarnish Removers, try to be careful to not get it on your gemstones.

Rated at 7.5-8 on the Moh's Level of Mineral Hardness this gemstone should be fine for everyday use. Even so keep it protected.
