Natural
Honey Polish Baltic Amber Cab Bezel Set Earrings. 10mm Round Cabochon
Gemstones. Sterling Silver. November Birthstones. These gemstones come
from a dealer in Poland which is famous for Baltic Amber Gemstones.
Special
care is not required but keep it safe; it is a very soft gemstone.
Only rated at 2.0-2.5 (1-10) it can easily be damaged or scratched. For
these reasons, we normally set Amber in well protected settings
including Bezels that protect it well.
Amber is not a mineral;
it is a resin, and a created product of fossilized trees over mean
years. Some amber will contain insects and otherwise that been caught up
when fossilized. Synthetic Amber is common and melting it gives off a
distinct plastic smell where melting true amber gives of a distinct pine
smell. There is no mistaking the smell of true amber.
Testing it does and can destroy the gemstones as we know well :) We test randomly if questionable.

Museums to protect a variety of pieces including valuable artwork and
jewelry. it gives is a nice sheen and works quite well. We use it for
our own personal jewelry as well. We do not sell it but other sellers
do, whom we also buy it from. Check it out; we highly recommend getting
some for yourself.
There is no special care needed for this
stone. As with the most popular Jeweler's Insurance agency, Jeweler's
Mutual, we recommend the same care for most stones and your jewelry. Use
warm water, a soft tooth brush, and a mild dish detergent that do not
contain dying or bleaching agents (Blue Dawn recommended) and then
polish up. For a more through cleaning take to a qualified jeweler and
disclose any known treatments etc. that your gemstones may have. If you
Tarnish Removers, try to be careful to not get it on your gemstones.
Stay
away from Chlorine in Pools, Spas, Jacuzzi, and otherwise as it can
damage Amber. Some people will polish with Olive or other oils such as
mineral when it starts to look dull. Prolonged exposure to hot water
can damage it. Avoid high heat and flames, it will melt. Melting
natural amber gives off a distinct pine smell unlike melting synthetic
amber which gives off a definite plastic smell. We have and do test any
stones that we have questions on randomly; and can assure you, we sell
natural amber. If it is not, it will be disclosed.
