Over
time and for centuries many Geologists believe that tiger's Eye is
formed much the same way that Petrified wood is. It is called Tiger's
Eye as the Eye seemingly moves back and forth when moved. This is
merely related to what is known as chatoyancy or a gemstone that is
chatoyant. Some refer to it as the Cat's Eye Effect which is common in
other stones as well; it is merely related to an optical reflecting
effect going on with certain gemstones.
Protected with
Renaissance Wax for Tarnish Protection. Renaissance wax is used by
Museums to protect a variety of pieces including valuable artwork and
jewelry. it gives is a nice sheen and works quite well. We use it for
our own personal jewelry as well. We do not sell it but other sellers
do, whom we also buy it from. Check it out; we highly recommend getting
some for yourself.
There is no special care needed for this
stone. As with the most popular Jeweler's Insurance agency, Jeweler's
Mutual, we recommend the same care for most stones and your jewelry. Use
warm water, a soft tooth brush, and a mild dish detergent that do not
contain dying or bleaching agents (Blue Dawn recommended) and then
polish up. For a more through cleaning take to a qualified jeweler and
disclose any known treatments etc. that your gemstones may have. If you
Tarnish Removers, try to be careful to not get it on your gemstones.
