Blue
Topaz is not natural a natural color found in the environment; and is
obtained by Irradiating White Topaz gemstones followed up by a heating
process to stabilize it. The process is stable and there is no harm to
the wearer. The NRC (US Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requires of
Importers to disclose information and that Gemstones sit for at least a
year before being sold following this Treatment.
Three types of
Blue Topaz are sold on the market. Swiss Blue, London Blue and Sky
Blue. All Blue Topaz is Irradiated though many sellers only disclose
heating. Much of it is done so inside a Nuclear Reactor bombarding it
with Electrons following by heating to stabilize the irradiation.
Required
sit time, should be at least 1 year before being sold to the public
though we have seen irradiated stones that were most likely not allowed
to sit that long. Leaving them in the Safe, a year later, they were not
glowing as they used to :) All Importers of Irradiated Gemstones must
keep concise records of importing information. We are the Original
Importer.
Stone and Setting matters
Setting made in the USA - Solid Cast .925 Sterling Silver. Protected with Renaissance Wax for Tarnish Protection.
Clean
up with warm water, a Soft toothbrush and a mild dish detergent (Blue
Dawn Recommended) and Polish Up. If you need to use Tarnish Removers,
try to not get it on the stones. The Color should not fade and is
stable yet it's best not to keep your gemstones in the direct sunlight
for long periods of time. Gemstones are much like people, Gemstones
love cool environments and do not like to be subjected to sudden
temperature changes.
